Two Men Arrested For Stealing Railway Equipments In Ogun State

The NSCDC say the suspect were caught while trying to steal railway chains.Two suspects have been arrested by the Ogun State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for stealing railway equipment .
They suspects were caught in the act at Obada-Oko in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the Ogun.The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olanrewaju Kareem, said in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Wednesday that the vandals were caught removing the railway chains that were used to tighten the rail to allow for a firm grip.
He said that the suspects were caught right in the act, adding that their act could cause loss of human lives.“They were arrested by NSCDC men on patrol of critical infrastructures,” the command spokesperson said.He said that the state commandant has ordered for a thorough investigation to enable the corps unravel the reasons behind the suspects’ action, adding that that they will be put to trial after investigation.
Mr. Kareem said that thick rail chains, and other tools were recovered from the suspects. He urged the public to furnish the NSCDC with information regarding vandalism.“The command is hereby calling on members of the public especially those whose village is located around rail line to be observant and give prompt information whenever they see any strange person[s]around railway as consequence may have direct effect on them,” he said.
