Goalkeeper, Agbim will cost Rangers N8m while Mba attracts a higher price tag of N15m.
Enugu Rangers will need to part with N23m if they are interested in
having the duo of Sunday Mba and Chigozie Agbim, PREMIUM TIMES has
gathered.
According to a statement from Moses Etu, media officer to Warri
Wolves, who were on Friday declared rightful owners of the two players,
goalkeeper Agbim will cost Rangers N8m while Mba attracts a higher price
tag of N15m.
“After a careful examination of their offer even though we have spent
millions of Naira to bring him up to this level, we have agreed that
Rangers should pay the sum of eight million Naira for Chigozie Agbim,”
the statement from Warri Wolves read.
On Sunday Mba, the management of Warri Wolves maintained that it will
not hold any player from achieving the best in his career and that of
Mba cannot be an exception, which is why a ‘light price tag’ of N15m was
placed on him with other add-ons.
“As a result of that, having listened to their plea and that of many
Nigerians, we have come to the conclusion that in order to help him
(Mba) in his career and in the overall interest of this great country,
Rangers will in the next two weeks pay the sum of 15 million Naira to
the purse of Warri Wolves and in addition, Warri Wolves will be entitled
to sixty percent of the total sale of Sunday Mba to any club. Such
negotiations must involve our consultants and must be under the watchful
eyes of the Nigeria
Football Federation,” the club said.
Wolves stated that In view of their experience in the last few
months, they have asked their lawyers to prepare the necessary papers
and both parties will endorse them with representatives of the Nigeria
Football Federation in attendance.
The Board of the Nigeria Football Federation was then commended by
the management of Warri Wolves for their verdict on the duo of Sunday
Mba and Chigozie Agbim which has finally laid to rest the controversy
surrounding the ownership of the players, especially Sunday Mba.
